ARTIST STATEMENT
I use my creative “artistic license” to paint bold, vivid, realistic, contemporary interpretations of the world. In this process I seek to capture the world’s inherent beauty, mood, solitude, wildness and magnificence. My work is a celebration of the world’s and nature’s brilliance.
I love the great outdoors and have hiked and photographed the desert southwest of Utah extensively. I use the photos as reference for my paintings adding brilliant, saturated light which makes the difference between a mediocre or a true masterpiece painting.
I paint using acrylics on gessoed hard board.
My distinctive painting style is unique and incorporates multiple factors, including an exclusive design perspective, real and imaginary compositions, the stylistic use of light and color, a broad color palette, and unique brush strokes, patterns, and techniques.
